Performance Evaluation Program for Diagnostic Laboratories (PEP)

PEP Network member laboratories will prepare standardized specimens and samples and send them for analysis to any diagnostic laboratory (participating laboratories) wishing to participate in the program.

The results obtained will be compared to the actual biological contents of the specimens/samples as detailed in a report sent later by the PEP network laboratory. This comparison will be used to indicate the accuracy of the participating laboratory’s monitoring and diagnostic techniques.

The program will be one of self assessment as participating laboratories will not be required to submit any reports of their results to ICLAS or any other agency.

While evaluation will be self assessed, participating laboratories will be encouraged to report any differences between their analysis and the stated sample content to enable the network laboratory to monitor its own accuracy in the production of samples.
