ICLAS-CCAC International Symposium on Regulatory
Testing and Animal Welfare, Québec, Canada, June 2001
This ICLAS initiative was a great success 160 participants from 22 countries
The Proceedings of this meeting were published in the ILAR Journal, fall
2002.
ILAR International Workshop on Development of
Science-Based Guidelines for Laboratory Animal Care (November 19-21,
2003)
ICLAS was a co-sponsor of this workshop. It was organized to discuss
the available knowledge that can affect current and pending guidelines for
laboratory animal care, identify gaps in that knowledge in order to
encourage future research endeavors, and discuss the scientific evidence
that can be used to assess the benefits and costs of various regulatory
approaches affecting facilities, research and animal welfare.
Round-table discussion on Harmonization of Guidelines for Laboratory
Animal Care- (held during the AALAS meeting in Tampa Bay in October
2004)
An international panel including the President of ICLAS has made
presentations on the advantages and disadvantages of international
harmonization of laboratory animal guidelines. Information from the First
International ICLAS Meeting for Harmonization of Guidelines was provided.
First International ICLAS Meeting for
Harmonization of Guidelines (FELASA 2004, France).
A one-day meeting was held in conjunction with FELASA 2004, in Nantes,
France, on June 13 (pm) and June 14 (am). ICLAS invited representatives of
the principal organizations in the world that produce or use guidelines for
